Southern Mexican hotels
and camping
As we currently live in Playa del Carmen I am starting this web site
here
Camping
The most amazingly beautiful Rv park in the area is Paamul, It is located on
a calm bay, there is a Restaurant and pool, just around the point you can
enjoy km´s of deserted beaches, the is daily price is 250 pesos.
Mecoloco, is located North of Cancun, near Punta Sam, an ideal Place to
make base to explore isla Blanca, Cancun and Isla Mujeres, but in my opinion
too far from the sea breeze to give protection from the mosquitoes and heat.
Bonanza, is a Rv Park in Xpu-ha, the beach is wonderful, the cost is 65
pesos per night, but the place looks very run down.
Uxmal: Sacbe camping and RV, But I have heard that they have turned away
big vehicles, we stayed at the cabañas once, the owners were very nice and
the gardens well kept and rooms very clean.
Federicos, on Laguna Bacalar just south of Pedro Santos beautiful but wild
location, lots of bugs. You can visit the old chiclero village nearby, complete
with it own graveyard, underground jail and main offices, the locals from
Pedro Santos are doing their best renovating the place. The area is also a
toucan haven.
