Southern Mexican hotels
and camping
As we currently live in Playa del Carmen I am starting this web site
here
Hotels
One of my favorite places to stay is Hacienda San Antonio Chalante, this a
beautifully restored Hacienda,a perfect place to relax, horse ride, listen to
the sounds of the Yucatan at night and look out for shooting stars. It is
located just a few Kms from the golden city of Izamal.
If you like solitude, Rancho San Eric offers private villas on the beach in
Sian Kaan Biosphere, a little expensive but certainly a great experience.
In Merida itself I think Medio Mundo is a great option, comfortable beds,
and charming quiet hotel, near the centre.I have just found out that they do
not accept children :-(
In Campeche, for the people who like relaxing and views, I recommend
staying at a restored Hacienda, Siho Playa, on the beach front, where you
can watch the pelicans fly past, and appreciate the gorgeous sunsets.
I have seen hacienda Blanca Flor recommended, but have not stayed there
yet.
In Valladolid Quinta real is a nice option, but more expensive and a little too
far out of the center, the grounds make up for it tho.
In this small colonial city's centre: Meson del marques is a lovely hotel, but
some rooms are very small, ask to see your room first, we also stay at Hotel
Zaci often, but it could be cleaner.
