Trip to Sian Kaan
We drove through the Sian Kaan Reserve to
Punta Allen, then rented a boat to take us out
to snorkel and see the dolphins, but this time
we were unlucky and saw no dolphins on this
trip, but we admired the starfish and also were
able to be in close contact with the caguama
turtle.
We learnt that the Lobsters go into the
mangrove to lay their eggs, and also how to
difference male and female lobsters: the males
have smaller fins than the females.
On our drive we sighted many turtle nests
and saw a coati and many iguanas.
Alex also sighted a tree full of orchids.
We also saw how the mangroves help keep land
in place when there is a strong sea surge.
